A Glow Run is a fun run held after dark, with participants wearing glow sticks, LED accessories and reflective gear along a lit course. Pledges are collected beforehand exactly as in a daytime run. Common questions
How do you light a course safely for a night run?
Light the whole path rather than marking it, keep the course tight and looped so no participant is ever far from a lit station, and put a volunteer with a light at every turn. If any section cannot be properly lit, reroute rather than adding a warning.
What time should a Glow Run start?
Just after sunset, which in late fall means early evening — early enough for elementary families, dark enough for the glow gear to work.
Do families need to buy glow gear?
They should not have to. Supply the basics so participation never depends on a purchase, and let families add to it if they want.
