South Lake Elementary — record $45,000

South Lake's third annual Fun Run used a Space Shark theme and the FundHub Challenge Calendar. Students who raised an extra $25 over a weekend earned lunch with the principal in a 'Space Lounge,' and students who reached $100 earned an express carpool pass.

Carillon Elementary — over $59,000 against a $50,000 goal

Carillon raised money for a playground, set a $50,000 goal and passed it. When it did, students duct-taped the principal to a wall.

Charles Haskell Elementary (Edmond, OK) — over $36,000

The "Rascal Run" was a do-it-yourself, low-cost event run on FundHub. It shows a Fun Run doesn't need a big event-day budget to raise real money; see the Fun Run budget guide.

Saguaro Creek — $18K in its first Turkey Trot

Saguaro Creek's first-ever Turkey Trot on FundHub raised $18K in a single event, kicked off with a Facebook video.

Copper Mesa Elementary — over $31,000 in year one, 97% kept

Copper Mesa's first obstacle course event raised over $31,000, and the school kept 97%.

Patterns across these schools

Principals in on the joke

Carillon, Switzer PTO, Desert Vista, Crosswind and Hood-Case all tied a principal stunt to the campaign: duct tape, a rooftop office, a turkey costume, a pie. More ideas in Fun Run prizes and incentives.

Themes that carry into the rewards

South Lake's Space Lounge lunch, St. John Vianney's planet challenges and Heath's character lunch all matched the event theme, so the reward and the run told one story.

Schools that come back

Eader, Milwaukee German Immersion and Forestville Road are 4 years in; Medlar View is 3. Mokapu has been on FundHub since 2019, and Val Vista and Main Elementary run theirs every year.

Strong first years

Copper Mesa and Saguaro Creek posted their results in a first event; Northlake Hills beat its goal in its first year on FundHub; and Antelope Canyon's chair was new to the role.

A named goal

Carillon told families exactly what the money was for, a playground, and what it would cost. See how to set one in Fun Run fundraising goals.

Frequently asked questions

Where do these Fun Run results come from?

Each result is the school's figure as published on a Get Movin' page, such as the homepage, a blog post or the school success page, and every row links to its source. Amounts kept are shown only where that page states them. A school is listed only when its event type and result are confirmed on the source page.

What percentage of Fun Run money do schools keep?

Get Movin' schools keep 95–97% of funds raised, on average. The five homepage schools on this page kept 96–97%. A usage fee applies only to online donations, optional donor credits are applied to it, and schools keep 100% of in-school cash and checks.

Do first-time Fun Runs raise as much as repeat events?

Some first events on this page did well: Copper Mesa raised over $31,000 in its first obstacle course event, and Saguaro Creek raised $18K in its first Turkey Trot. Several of the larger totals come from schools in their third or fourth year, where families already know the event.
